संघ लोक सेवा आयोग (UPSC) ने Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, 2027 का आधिकारिक नोटिफिकेशन 02 सितंबर 2026 को जारी कर दिया है। इस परीक्षा के माध्यम से Geological Survey of India (GSI), Ministry of Mines तथा Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Ministry of Jal Shakti के अंतर्गत विभिन्न Group ‘A’ और Group ‘B’ पदों पर भर्ती की जाएगी। आधिकारिक नोटिफिकेशन के अनुसार कुल 127 रिक्तियां निर्धारित की गई हैं, हालांकि vacancies में परिवर्तन किया जा सकता है। ऑनलाइन आवेदन 02 सितंबर 2026 से शुरू हो गए हैं और आवेदन करने की अंतिम तिथि 22 सितंबर 2026 शाम 6:00 बजे है। Combined Geo-Scientist Preliminary Examination 2027 का आयोजन 10 जनवरी 2027 को किया जाएगा, जबकि Main Examination 19 जून 2027 और 20 जून 2027 को प्रस्तावित है। परीक्षा तीन चरणों—Preliminary, Main और Personality Test/Interview—में आयोजित होगी।

आधिकारिक notification में प्रत्येक पद के लिए स्वीकार्य postgraduate qualifications को अलग-अलग निर्धारित किया गया है। संबंधित Master’s degree सामान्यतः कम से कम दो वर्ष की postgraduate degree होनी चाहिए।
Nationality
उम्मीदवार को निम्न में से निर्धारित nationality conditions में से किसी एक को पूरा करना होगा:
- भारत का नागरिक;
- नेपाल का subject;
- भूटान का subject;
- 01 जनवरी 1962 से पहले भारत में स्थायी रूप से बसने के उद्देश्य से आया Tibetan refugee;
- निर्धारित देशों से भारत में स्थायी रूप से बसने के उद्देश्य से आया Indian origin person।
नेपाल, भूटान तथा अन्य निर्दिष्ट श्रेणियों के candidates के लिए Government of India द्वारा जारी eligibility certificate की आवश्यकता हो सकती है।
Physical Standards
उम्मीदवारों को Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 के लिए निर्धारित physical standards को पूरा करना होगा। संबंधित physical standards और regulations परीक्षा के नियमों तथा notification के Appendix-II में दिए गए हैं।
Selection Process
UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 में चयन तीन successive stages में किया जाएगा:

Main Examination के conventional papers English में ही answer किए जाएंगे और question papers भी English में set किए जाएंगे।
Personality Test / Interview
Stage-III में Personality Test/Interview कुल 200 marks का होगा और इसमें कोई minimum qualifying marks निर्धारित नहीं हैं। Main Examination में Commission द्वारा निर्धारित qualifying standard प्राप्त करने वाले candidates को Personality Test के लिए बुलाया जाएगा।
Personality Test में candidate की leadership, initiative, intellectual curiosity, social qualities, practical application की क्षमता, integrity और field life के अनुकूलन जैसी qualities का assessment किया जाएगा।
Final Merit
Final merit में Preliminary Examination, Main Examination और Personality Test के marks का योगदान होगा।

Preliminary Examination में qualified candidates में से लगभग छह से सात गुना vacancies के बराबर candidates को Main Examination के लिए लिया जा सकता है। Personality Test के लिए candidates की संख्या लगभग vacancies की दोगुनी हो सकती है।

Preliminary Examination के objective papers में negative marking लागू है।

How to Apply
UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 के लिए आवेदन केवल online mode में स्वीकार किए जाएंगे।
आवेदन करने की प्रक्रिया
- UPSC के online application portal पर जाएं।
- Universal Registration Number (URN) बनाएं या existing URN का उपयोग करें।
- Common Application Form (CAF) पूरा करें।
- आवश्यक personal और educational details दर्ज करें।
- संबंधित examination-specific module भरें।
- अपनी category, qualification और अन्य आवश्यक जानकारी दर्ज करें।
- निर्धारित photograph upload करें और live photograph capture करें।
- निर्धारित format में signature upload करें।
- यदि शुल्क लागू है तो ₹200 examination fee जमा करें।
- Examination centre और अन्य details carefully select करें।
- Application submit करने से पहले सभी details verify करें।
- Final submission के बाद application details सुरक्षित रखें।
UPSC ने स्पष्ट किया है कि application केवल upsconline.nic.in के माध्यम से online submit करनी होगी। Application में आवश्यक supporting documents उपलब्ध न कराने पर candidature प्रभावित हो सकती है।
URN और Application Number
UPSC के नए online application system में candidate registration के बाद Universal Registration Number (URN) generate होता है। यह Commission की examinations के लिए common और lifetime registration number होता है।
Examination-specific form पूरा करने के बाद एक Application Number generate होता है, जो संबंधित examination के लिए specific होता है। Candidates को URN और Application Number दोनों को भविष्य के communication के लिए सुरक्षित रखना चाहिए।
Photograph and Signature Requirements
Application process में candidate को photograph upload करने के साथ-साथ Common Application Form भरते समय live photograph भी capture करना होगा।
Signature के लिए candidate को plain white paper पर black ink से तीन बार एक के नीचे एक signature करके उसे upload करना होगा। Signature clear और legible होना चाहिए।

Application Withdrawal and Correction
एक बार application submit करने के बाद candidate को application withdraw करने की अनुमति नहीं होगी। Final submission के बाद application form के fields में correction, alteration या modification की सुविधा भी उपलब्ध नहीं होगी।
हालांकि URN profile को update/modify करने के लिए Commission ने one-time facility दी है। URN में किया गया बदलाव पहले से submitted applications पर लागू नहीं होगा।
Admit Card
Eligible candidates के लिए e-Admit Card examination से पहले Commission की website पर उपलब्ध कराया जाएगा। Admit Card डाक द्वारा नहीं भेजा जाएगा।
Notification के अनुसार सामान्यतः eligible candidates का e-Admit Card examination से पहले वाले सप्ताह के अंतिम working day पर जारी किया जाएगा। जिन candidates ने examination से सात दिन पहले scribe change का option लिया है, उनके लिए अलग timeline निर्धारित है।
Examination Day Important Instructions
- Preliminary Examination OMR Sheet पर आयोजित होगी।
- OMR में answers mark करने के लिए केवल black ball pen का उपयोग करना होगा।
- Pencil या अन्य colour की pen का इस्तेमाल नहीं किया जा सकता।
- Examination venue पर entry examination शुरू होने से 30 मिनट पहले बंद कर दी जाएगी।
- Examination venue पर candidates का face authentication अनिवार्य होगा।
- Mobile phone, smartwatch, electronic devices और अन्य prohibited items examination hall में ले जाना प्रतिबंधित है।
- Objective papers में calculator का उपयोग नहीं किया जा सकता।
- Conventional/Descriptive papers में non-programmable pocket calculator की अनुमति है, जबकि programmable calculator की अनुमति नहीं है।
Category and Reservation
Notification के अनुसार vacancies में SC, ST, OBC, EWS और Persons with Benchmark Disabilities के लिए reservation Government द्वारा निर्धारित नियमों के अनुसार लागू होगा।
EWS candidates के लिए Income & Asset Certificate वित्तीय वर्ष 2025-26 की आय के आधार पर होना चाहिए और इसे 01 April 2026 या उसके बाद जारी किया गया होना चाहिए तथा application closing date तक उपलब्ध होना चाहिए।
OBC candidates के लिए OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate वित्तीय वर्ष 2025-26, 2024-25 और 2023-24 की आय के आधार पर होना चाहिए और certificate 01 April 2026 या उसके बाद जारी किया गया होना चाहिए।
Job Role
Combined Geo-Scientist Examination के माध्यम से चयनित candidates Geological Survey of India तथा Central Ground Water Board से संबंधित scientific और technical services में नियुक्त किए जाते हैं।
Post के अनुसार कार्यक्षेत्र अलग हो सकता है, जिसमें geological investigation, geophysical studies, chemical analysis, mineral exploration, groundwater assessment, hydrogeological studies और scientific/technical field work जैसे कार्य शामिल हो सकते हैं।
विशिष्ट duties संबंधित post, service और department के नियमों के अनुसार निर्धारित होती हैं।
Salary / Pay Scale
